Horizontal vs. Vertical Flip

Horizontal flip (left-right mirror) is the most common — it mimics what you see in a mirror. Selfies taken with the front camera are often pre-mirrored, and flipping puts them back the way you actually look.

Vertical flip (top-bottom mirror) is less common but useful for reflections, water effects, or correcting upside-down scans.

Lossless

Flipping is mathematically lossless — it just rearranges the existing pixels. Output quality matches the input exactly when you export as PNG. JPG and WebP encoding may introduce minor compression artifacts depending on the quality setting.

Flip Image — FAQ

Will text in my image read backwards?

Yes — if you flip horizontally, any text inside the photo will be mirrored. That's normal. If you want to flip a layout but keep text readable, the full editor lets you flip the photo background only and add text on top.

Does flipping change file size?

Output file size will be similar to the input but not identical, since the encoder re-compresses the pixels.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Flipping happens entirely in your browser.
